Answer :- The two properties of magnetic field are:-
I. The magnetic field line never intersect each other.
II. The magnetic field line originate from north pole of a magnet and end at its south pole.
Q2. Draw a neat ray diagram of the image formed by a concave mirror when the object is placed at the centre of curvature.
Answer:–
- Image position – at CNature of
- Image:- Real and Inverted
- Image Size: Equal Size
Q3. What are amphoteric oxides? Give examples.
Answer:- The oxides of those metals which have both acidic and basic properties are called amphoteric oxides.
e.g:- ZnO
Q4. What is the modern periodic law?
Answer:- The modern periodic law state that the physical and chemical properties of elements are the periodic function of their atomic number.
Q5. What is the function of bile?
Answer:- Functions of bile:-
I. Makes the acidic medium of food alkaline.
II. Activates the lipase enzyme.
Q6. What is called food chain ? Give an example.
Answer:- Every organism in the ecosystem depends on other organisms for its food and forms a chain among themselves, it is called food chain or food chain.
Example :- Grass → deer →tiger
Q7. Write the methods of reproduction in the following organisms.a) Hydra b) rhizopus
Answer:–
a) Hydra →budding (asexual reproduction).
b) Rhizopus → spore formation (asexual reproduction).

Q8. What is called myopia? What is the reason for this defect? What type of lens is used to overcome this?
Answer:– ❖ A person with myopia can see nearby object clearly but cannot see distant object clearly is called myopia.
Reason
- I. Excessive curvature of the eye lens.
- II. Elongation of the eyeball.
Correction
❖ This defect can be corrected by using concave lens of suitable power.
Q9. An object of size 7cm is placed at a distance of 27cm in front of a concave mirror of focal length 18cm. Find the position, nature and size of the image.
Answer:–
Q.10 Combination reaction is opposite to decomposition. How to illustrate?
Answer:- Combination reaction is opposite to the composer reaction because in combined reaction to or more reactant react to form a single product where has in decomposition reaction one reactant breakdown to form two or more products.
Combination reaction.
CaO + CaO + H2O → Ca (OH)2
Decomposition reaction
CaCO2 →CaO (s) + CO2(g)
Q11. What were the shortcomings of Mendeleev’s periodic table? How far did he move in the modern periodic table?
Answer:-
The following were short coming of mendeleev’s periodic table:-
❖ Position of hydrogen is not given
❖ Position of isotopes is not confirmed
❖ There is no proper place of inner gas in it.
The modern periodic table removed various anomalies of mendeleev’s periodic table as follows:–
➢ position of hydrogen is not given mendeleev’s periodic table why modern periodic table hydrogen has been given a define place in.
➢ Mendeleev’s periodic table, the isotope have not been assigned the correct position while in the modern periodic table, the isotopes of elements have been assigned a position.
➢ No place has been given to inner cases in mendeleev’s periodic table where has in modern periodic table in a gases are placed in group 18.
Q12. What is the reason for the existence of so many compounds of carbon?
Answer:-
The valency of carbon is 4, due to which it can easily form bonds by joining with four other elements Because of this property of carbon, there are so many compounds of carbon.
Q13.What is called double circulation? Explain.
Answer:-
Double circulation
- In human blood has to passed vice through the heart to complete one cycle, it is called double circulation.
- The heart receives deoxygenated blood from different parts of body, and it’s pump this blood to lungs for oxygenated, after oxygenated this blood again return to heart, which is pumped again into different parts of the body by the heart.
Q14. We use solar energy as a source of energy?
Answer :– As a source of energy, we use solar energy in many ways, the main one being solar panels. Solar panels convert solar energy into electrical energy. A solar panel is a group of many solar cells. Solar panels generate electricity without harming the environment, there is no pollution in it. Silicon is used in the solar cells of solar panels. The maintenance of solar panels is cheap, so nowadays solar panels are being used in abundance to generate electricity. Apart from this, solar energy is also used in the form of solar cooker.

Q.15 (a) On what factors does the resistance of a conductor depend?
(b) How to combine three resistors of resistance 2Ω, 3Ω and 6Ω that the total resistance of the combination
(i) 11 Ω (ii) 1 Ω
(a) On what factors does the resistance of a conductor depend?
Answer:– The electrical resistance of a conductor (or a wire) depends on the following factors:
- (i) length of the conductor,
- (ii) area of cross-section of the conductor (or thickness of the conductor),
- (iii) nature of the material of the conductor, and
- (iv) temperature of the conductor.
(b) How to combine three resistors of resistance 2Ω, 3Ω and 6Ω that the total resistance of the combination
(i) 11 Ω (ii) 1 Ω
Answer:- (i) 11Ω
2 Ω , 3 Ω and 6Ω have to be added in series order to get 11 Ω.
R = R1+R2+R3
=2+3+6=11 Ω
Answer:- (ii) 1 Ω
All the three resistors have to be connected in parallel to get 1Ω resistance.
1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
= 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/6
= 6 + 4 + 2 /12
= 12/12
= 1 Ω
Q.16 What is dynamo? On what principle does it work? Describe the construction and working of alternating current dynamo.
Answer:-
Dynamo:– Dynamo is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Principle :- It works on the principle of electromagnetic induction. ,
Alternating current dynamo: – The dynamo which converts mechanical energy into alternating current is called alternating current dynamo or generator.
Description of the construction and working of the alternating current dynamo:
Construction
An electric generator consists of a rectangular coil ABCD. Which is placed between the two poles of a powerful magnet. Both ends of the coil are connected to R1 and R2 rings respectively. Split ring R1 is connected to bush B1 and split ring R2 is connected to bush B2. Both the bushes are connected to a galvanometer.
Mechanism :-
When the coil is rotated in the magnetic field in such a way that the arm AB moves upwards and the arm CD moves downwards, then according to Fleming’s right hand rule, the direction of current in the coil will be towards ABCD, if the coil If the number of turns is more, then a powerful current is formed. After half a revolution, the arm AB moves down and the arm CD moves up. Hence the direction of current becomes towards DCBA. The change in the direction of the current takes place after every half revolution. A current which changes its direction after every half turn is called alternating current. The device that produces alternating current is called an alternating current generator.
Q.17 Balance the following equation:-
Q.18 Draw a labeled diagram of human digestive system.
Answer:-

Q.19 Explain sex determination in human child. Answer:– In humans, males (XY) produce two different types of gametes, X and Y. The human female (XX) produces only one type of gametes containing X chromosomes. The sex of the baby is determined by the type of male gamete that fuses with the female gamete. If the fertilizing sperm contains X chromosome, then the baby produced will be a girl and if the fertilizing sperm contains Y chromosome, then the baby produced will be a boy.
